Q580 :I find your answers highly convincing and
illuminating, but there is rarely any evidence supporting them from the
Qur’an and the Hadith. Please explain.
A580 : I will tell you straightaway that anyone who
gives religious opinion without relying on Qur’an or Hadith can only
nete out with unconvincing answers. This is due to the fact that
Islamic teachings and rulings can be derived from Allah’s revelation in
the Qur’an and in the Hadith. I always try my best to support my
answers with such evidence. If on occasions you find that lacking, it
is only because direct relevance of the Qur’anic verse or the Prophet’s
statement to the particular question in hand may not be readily
apparent. The other reason is that like every human being, I am liable
to forget. When I quote the Hadith, I want to be absolutely certain of
its text. Otherwise, I would like to assure you that I do not include
in Arab News anything without being certain of its correctness.
